Dump Cake

Dump Cake

Do you ever have those get-togethers when you are responsible for bringing dessert? Whenever I am pushed for time, I am asked to bring something for dessert. Dump Cake is one of the easiest and quickest desserts to make and it can feed plenty. I usually buy one of those aluminum throw away pans so I do not have to clean up too!

Ingredients:

1 can of crushed pineapple

1 can of fruit pie filling

1 yellow cake mix

2 stick of butter

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. This is the easy part! Spray your pan with nonstick spray. Pour in undrained pineapple and pie filling directly into the pan. Use a spatula to mix the two up and spread around evenly in the pan. Sprinkle the dry cake mix on top evenly. Cut the butter into pats and place on the top of the dry cake mix. Spacing the pats evenly over the cake mix. Put in the oven and bake for 1 hour. I like it best served warm but it can be served hot or cold. Use a spoon, scoop it out and "dump" right on the plate. Can be served with a scoop of ice cream!

This is a great recipe to cook the day before you need it. If you want it warm, put it in the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes to warm it up. I recommend that you store this in the refrigerator. If you use real butter like I do, it needs to be stored in the refrigerator! The pie filling can be any pie filling that you like. I have used both cherry and blueberry. Blueberries are my favorite!
