Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is a breathtaking waterfall located along I-5 east of Portland, Oregon. Believe it or not you can visit the falls without leaving Interstate 84. Because this falls is the most visited falls along I-84, you can park and cross under the interstate to reach the lodge and walk up and explore. Please note that the amount of people visiting during the summer months is overwhelming. To visit the falls you will need to have parking reservations to get in. Visit the website to get your parking permits.

The Multnomah Falls Lodge has a gift shop on the first floor but the reason why I visit is for breakfast! My husband and I have had breakfast many times in all seasons. The falls is just a short 45 minute drive from our home. Not only does the falls provide us with a wonderful view, the lodge cooks a wonderful meal. You can see the menu by clicking here

I suggest that if you are going to attempt to walk to the top of the falls that you make sure that you pack bottled water. Although it is only 1.1 miles to the top, it is a 600 ft high climb! It has several switchbacks with a paved trail to help with the climb but it is just that.... a climb!

If you have an afternoon, it is well worth the trip!
